Let’s rip the Band-Aid off: there is no single, fixed start date for the current iteration of The Apprentice. I know, I know, that’s like asking when a turtle finishes a marathon—it depends on the turtle, the traffic, and whether a god of procrastination is involved. For the original series starring the Donald, it usually kicked off in January or March, but the celebrity version? That thing was broadcast like a feral cat, popping up randomly in January, March, or even December over the years.
And here’s the kicker: since the show went on a hiatus after 2017 (you know, for reasons involving a certain former president’s day job), there hasn’t been a new season at all. That’s right—you’re waiting for a show that’s currently on an indefinite coffee break. The last regular season aired in 2015, so if you’re holding your breath, you’ve probably turned into a beautiful, terrified blueberry by now.
The Celebrity Version: A Complete Disaster of Timing
Ah, The Celebrity Apprentice—where washed-up pop stars and reality TV villains competed to prove they could still sell a bucket of fried chicken. That show’s start dates were like a drunk GPS: erratic, unpredictable, and occasionally hilarious. Season 1? March 2008. Season 2? March 2009. But then they started to drift—Season 3 premiered in March 2010, Season 4 in March 2011, and then the whole thing fell apart like a cheap suit.
Season 5 began in February 2013, and then—get this—two whole years passed before Season 6 premiered in January 2015. Why? No one knows. Maybe the producers were trying to find a celebrity who wasn’t currently in rehab or on a reality show about owning a llama farm. After that, the show went dark until a revived version with Arnold Schwarzenegger—yep, the Terminator himself—hosted a single season in January 2017. It was so poorly timed that viewers literally forgot to watch, and it was cancelled faster than you can say “I’ll be back… to my couch.”
