Pure H2O doesn’t spoil like milk. It’s not going to curdle or grow furry legs.
But water is a thirsty little molecule. It loves to pull flavors and chemicals out of its plastic home.
That’s why your year-old bottle tastes like a swimming pool. You’re not drinking water anymore. You’re drinking plastic tea.
Your taste buds will know first.
Open that old bottle and take a sniff. Does it smell like a new shower curtain? That’s bad news.
The plastic is breaking down. It’s leaching tiny amounts of antimony and other compounds into your drink.
You won’t get sick. But you will pucker your lips like you just bit into a lemon wrapped in a tire.
