Cut out a muslin (cheap fabric) version first. I know, I know—you want to jump straight to that flannel with the llamas on it. But trust me: sewing a test pair saves heartbreak. Put them on, walk around, sit down. Do they sag? Are they too tight? Mark where you need to adjust.
I once made a test pair that looked like clown pants—so wide I could’ve fit a second person in each leg. I had to trim the seam allowance by 2 inches. That’s normal. Pajamas are all about forgiveness, and so is pattern making.
